Saturday, July 18th from 9am-11am at First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro

The Wilkes County Math & Literacy Workshop is for all students entering kindergarten in August 2026. Many activities will be set out for children to practice building skills they will need in kindergarten. Information on how to replicate these activities at home will be included.

Children will be able to freely flow from activities while caregivers learn how each activity builds skills for school readiness.

This workshop will also be a Rootle event in which the Wilkes County Rootle Ambassador will be present to share free resources and goodies from PBS Kids to help children prepare for kindergarten. A host of community agencies will be present to share information about how each can serve students and families. These agencies will include WCS student services.
